How To Tie Your Waistbeads

tying waistbeads
  1. Take one end of your strand in each hand. One of the ends will have a loop of string at the end near an anchor bead.
  2. In your dominant hand place your index finger and thumb at the base end of your beads closest to the anchor bead.
  3. With your opposite hand use your index finger and thumb to pull the anchor bead (without untying) away from the beads in your other hand.
  4. This should loosen the slip-knot near the anchor bead to make room for beads to slide back and forth as you adjust the strand to your size. (Don’t worry as long as the anchor bead is attached your beads will not slide off)
  5. At your desired location gently wrap your strand around you.
  6. Before you make the first knot make sure your beads are pushed back from the ends of the strand so that there are no gaps in the beads that are now tied around you.
  7. Once you have doubled checked there are no gaps in the beads around your waist go ahead and tie the first knot.
  8. Tie roughly 5 knots in order to secure your strand.
  9. Next cut the strand and let remaining beads fall into a catch container
